What does Augur actually do?
Augur ingests 20+ public OSINT feeds (USGS, EMSC, NOAA NHC, NWS, GDELT, GDACS, NASA FIRMS, OpenSky, AIS, WHO, ReliefWeb, ACLED, OFAC, NVD, BBC, OpenWeather and more) and fires geofenced, AI-explained alerts to your Slack / Discord / Telegram / email / webhook. See the live demo.
How is severity scored?
Each feed has a source-specific 0-100 severity formula computed at ingest. USGS magnitude + PAGER population exposure. NHC cone + landfall probability. GDELT goldstein tone + reach. The output is one comparable number per event. Watch zones fire when the score crosses the per-zone threshold. Play with the live calculator.
What does it cost?
Free plan: 3 watch zones, real-time alerts, basic event history. Observer $5/mo: 10 zones, weekly digest. Pro $49/mo: unlimited zones, public API, AI triage, embeddable maps. Enterprise $499/mo: bespoke adapters, dedicated tenant, SLA. Full pricing. Cancel any time.
Do you do annual contracts?
Optional. Annual billing is 20% cheaper than monthly on every paid tier. No multi-year lock-in — annual is just a 12-month prepay. Enterprise customers can request a signed agreement at the same terms.
Can I cancel without talking to a salesperson?
Yes. Cancel from your billing portal at any time. No exit interview, no win-back call, no penalty.
Is the data really public?
Yes. Every feed Augur ingests is a published government, academic or commercial public-data API. No scraping anything you would not scrape yourself. No paywalled data. Full feed list.
Can I add a feed you don't already have?
Yes, on Enterprise. We build bespoke adapters into the tier. The ingest contract is one TypeScript function per feed — adding a new RSS / JSON / WMS / WebSocket source takes days, not weeks.
Self-hosting?
On the roadmap for Enterprise. A docker-compose bundle + air-gapped install path is in flight (see /roadmap). Until then we run a dedicated tenant for customers who need data residency control beyond EU-Central-1.
Where is my data stored?
Frankfurt, EU (Supabase + Hetzner). Encrypted at rest (AES-256), encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3), row-level security per tenant. Full security page, DPA with sub-processors.
SOC2?
SOC2 Type I targeted Q3 2026, Type II Q1 2027. We use Drata for controls + evidence. Enterprise customers can request the current trust-report snapshot under NDA.
How fast does an alert hit my Slack?
Median end-to-end (public feed → Slack) is under 30 seconds for polling feeds (USGS, GDELT, FIRMS) and under 10 seconds for webhook-pushed feeds (NWS, OpenSky). The dispatcher runs every 5 minutes so the worst case is 5 minutes + delivery latency.
Can I get a refund?
Within 30 days of your first paid month, yes — no questions asked. Email hello@augur.news.
